The above expression, as seen on my face, is my reaction to the racy cover of my paperback copy of The Age of Innocence.
Here is the disturbing cover up close.
Though i am barely on the thirteenth chapter of the story, i am inferring that the blond woman (aka Michelle Pfeiffer) is none other than the standard-defying Countess Olenska, and the faceless man must be Newland Archer (aka Daniel Day Lewis). i bought this particular book at a fascinating price, which was something under $1, at a book fair i attended with my friend and my AP World History teacher. The aforementioned teacher happened to find the "clean" cover of this book--a lovely lavender hardcover. Unfortunately, the only other copy of The Age of Innocence happened to be this one. Despite the provocative cover, The Age of Innocence is proving to be a rather captivating read. :)
